FAQs
Of course! I'm here to make your stationery journey as simple as possible and help you along the journey. I have a wedding stationery ultimate guide which may help you too if you need inspiration!
My bespoke wedding stationery pricing includes the time taken for me to design something unique to you and provide digital copies. You can download our handy Investment Guide in the footer of the website.
The choices you can opt for for bespoke wedding stationery are endless! There are so many different types of paper stock, designs, finish (such as foiling) that it can be pretty hard to decide how much of your wedding budget you should allocate towards wedding stationery! On average, couples invest between 3-6% for their 'Before the Day' stationery (this includes Save the Dates, Invitation Suites etc) and an extra 1-3% of their wedding budget towards their 'On the Day' stationery (including items such as Table plan, Menus, Place Cards etc).
There are NO HIDDEN COSTS to our quotes! You have unlimited text amends on your wedding stationery so no need to worry if you suddenly need to add or remove anything.
For more information on this topic please see the Investment segment on my wedding stationery ultimate guide
Please note that I work alone and all jobs are priced competitively.
Typically you only need to send 1 invitation per household, couple or individual. Although, I highly recommended ordering around 5-10 more than you require to allow for guest list changes, postal issues and miscalculations. Any spare invitations can make beautiful keepsakes, or provide some to the photographer on your wedding day who can make them into a lovely arrangement for a memorable photo.
Ordering additional small quantities of invitations if you end up short can be costly.
Before the Day Stationery
I recommend booking your stationery at least 16 weeks before you want to send it, as this gives me enough time to design, print and post your stationery to you or provide you with digital copies. Ideally we should start designing these ASAP (the earlier the better as I cannot guarantee my availability!)
On the Day Stationery
This should be ordered about 12 weeks before your wedding day, with the final draft being signed off about 4 weeks before your big day. This allows any last minute changes e.g. with seating plans to be accounted for. Ideally you should aim to have any On the Day Stationery delivered 3-4 weeks before your wedding.
It it worth noting that as soon you pay the 50% deposit then your stationery slot is secured! I only take on so many bespoke wedding stationery projects per month, so slots do get booked up quickly, especially in peak wedding season. I do not like disappointing customers, so please book in advance if possible, you do not need to have all your wedding details finalised to book!
Bespoke wedding stationery can take up to a couple of months before it is with you, since everything is done from scratch. Book as soon as you can to avoid the stress of tight turn around times. Here is a rough timeline for the design process:
Sketch Design Concept: 2 weeks
Feedback and amendments to the concept: Typically within 1 week
Actual wedding stationery artwork: 1-3 weeks (dependent upon complexity)
Feedback and amendments to actual wedding stationery: 1 week
Print/Digital copies provided: 7-14 days (although Letterpress printing can take slightly longer)
So that all guests have time to save money, book time off work, sort accommodation and arrange for childcare (if required) it is always best to let them know about your wedding as soon as possible.
Save The Dates
Once you have your date secured at your venue then you can look to begin the save the date design process. These can be sent anytime from 12 -18 months before your big day. If the wedding is abroad I would lean closer towards the 18 month mark.
Invitations
If you have sent a save the date then invitations should be sent out around 6 months before your wedding day. If you have not opted for a save the date then think about sending your invitations a little earlier, perhaps around the 6-9 months stage.
Unfortunately, due to copyright infringement and intellectual property rights I am unable to copy anything you have found on Instagram, Pinterest or a design created by another stationer. I can however, use those designs to inspire your own bespoke wedding stationery and get a better feel for what you like.
